Empowering the future through access and opportunity

SVF’s education program is dedicated to providing quality education to children who cannot afford it, focusing particularly on vulnerable and underserved communities. This comprehensive initiative is structured around four major components, each designed to ensure that children, regardless of their circumstances, have access to a better future through education.

Orphan Education Program

One of the key pillars of SVF’s education initiative is the Orphan Education Program, which focuses on ensuring orphaned children receive high-quality education and holistic development opportunities. Orphaned children are enrolled in reputable private schools that are carefully selected through a rigorous due diligence process. These schools are chosen based on their standards of physical and learning environments to ensure that children are provided the best possible platform for academic and personal growth.

SVF covers all the expenses necessary for the education of these children, including:

  1. Monthly tuition fees and admission fees to relieve the financial burden from guardians.
  2. Uniforms, textbooks, notebooks, school bags, and shoes to ensure that students have everything they need for a smooth school experience.
  3. Monthly transportation costs for daily pick-and-drop, making sure that access to education is not hindered by logistical challenges.

Reform and Transformation of Government Schools

Recognizing the potential of government schools, SVF is committed to reforming and transforming these institutions into centers of quality education. SVF works closely with government schools to improve various aspects of the school environment through targeted interventions, including:

  • Infrastructure upgrades to create safe, conducive learning spaces.
  • Governance and administrative improvements to ensure efficient school operations.
  • Teacher professional development to equip educators with modern teaching methods and tools for improved learning outcomes.
  • Community participation and the development of community-responsive mechanisms to engage parents and stakeholders, raising demand for educational reforms.
  • Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to provide students with a well-rounded education that goes beyond academics.

Emergency Resumption of Education
Emergency Resumption of Education

During times of natural disasters or emergencies, education is often disrupted, leaving children without access to learning. SVF is dedicated to ensuring the emergency resumption of education in affected areas. The organization swiftly responds to crises by setting up Temporary Learning Centers (TLCs) and repairing or retrofitting damaged educational infrastructure.

Non-formal and Alternative Learning Pathways (ALP)

For children who have missed out on formal education, particularly girls in remote or marginalized areas, SVF provides Non-Formal Education (NFE) and Alternative Learning Pathways (ALP). These centers offer condensed curriculum models, developed in collaboration with the Government Education Department, to provide accelerated education for children who are out of school.
