With a score of 26.6 in the 2023 Global Hunger Index, Pakistan has a level of hunger that is serious. Children are the main victims of starvation with 45% of morality rates related to this. Nearly 10.5 million people (29 percent of the population analyzed) are experiencing high levels of acute food insecurity (IPC Phase 3 or above). Among them, approximately 2.1 million people (6 percent of the analyzed population) are in IPC Phase 4 (Emergency), and around 8.4 million people (23 percent of the analyzed population) are in IPC Phase 3 (Crisis) across the vulnerable analyzed districts of Pakistan.
SVF facilitates this act of worship through its Global Sadaqah/ Qurbani Program by distributing healthy and nourishing meat to families who need it most. This meat is distributed in the regions that have high levels of acute food insecurity (IPC Phase 3 or above).
